"I am taking part in this workshop. It takes place in Donostia-San Sebastián.
The goal of this two-day workshop is to gather interdisciplinary scientists and professionals under one roof and explore Ambient Intelligence (AmI) applications for the everyday life. AmI environments (e.g., in the home environment) are integrated by several autonomous computational devices of modern life ranging from consumer electronics to mobile phones.
Ideally, people in an AmI environment will not notice these devices, but they will benefit from the services they provide them with. Such devices are aware of people's situation in those environments by reacting to their gestures, actions and context. Recently the interest in Ambient Intelligence environments has grown considerably due to new challenges posed by society, demanding highly innovative services such as vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANET), Ambient Assisted Living (AAL), e-Health, Internet of Things, and home automation, among others.

A guide about the city
Donostia-San Sebastián is a city located in the north of Iberian peninsula, on the coast of the Bay of Biscay and 20 km away from the French border. It is surrounded by the Cantabrian Sea. It has much to fascinate its visitors.
It is best to avoid driving into the city centre. The reason is that the parking rates per hours of stay are extortionately expensive. Or else take the bicycle around the city in its bidegorris. Bidegorri means red road or red way. This is the bicycle road in Donostia-San Sebastián. Sometimes it is invaded by people who don't realise what are they stepping. The city spreads around the famous La Concha beach which is visited in July and August by a huge number of tourists. September is another popular time for tourists when the Donostia-San Sebastián International Film Festival takes place and the second half of July is the annual International Jazz Festival. The biggest annual event is Aste Nagusia (word in its Basque language). Aste Nagusia is a full week of partying in August which includes traditional Basque music and dance as well as gastronomic events. Donostia-San Sebastián has attractive places for tourists including restaurants, and hotels. In fact, you will find Michelin star restaurants in this city. Alternatively to hotels, the tourists may stay in campsites in countryside (Zarautz). Finally, Donostia-San Sebastián, along with Wroclaw (Poland), will be the European Capital of Culture in 2016.
